Clinic Performance Initiative

Background

With Pinnacol Assurance’s new Clinic Performance Initiative (CPI), our policyholders can view online performance ratings for SelectNet primary care clinics and choose the right designated medical providers for their companies. The CPI measures medical provider clinic performance, shares measurement results and rewards those clinics that meet or exceed specified performance standards.

View CPI results through the online SelectNet directory..

Benefits

Pinnacol is the only workers' compensation insurance carrier in the country with this type of measurement system. The CPI will directly benefit our partners by:

  • Allowing policyholders to make informed designated medical provider selections
  • Improving the service experience for injured workers
  • Driving improved efficiencies in claims management processes and service
  • Offering potential financial rewards and marketing opportunities to high performing medical provider clinics
  • Providing ongoing feedback to medical provider clinics regarding operational and administrative performance

Features

Measurement: SelectNet primary care and many specialist physician clinics will be measured as part of the CPI.

  • Primary Care Provider (PCP) Clinics will be measured on the thoroughness with which they address modified duty, clinic evaluations made by Pinnacol, timely medical record submission and the accuracy of maximum medical improvement (MMI) form completion.
  • Specialist Provider Clinics will be measured on the timeliness with which they treat injured workers, submit medical records and respond to certain types of Pinnacol correspondence.

Display: PCP clinic star ratings and performance information will be accessible to the public via the online SelectNet provider directory.

Note: Program results for specialist clinics are only available to referring PCPs via a password protected website. Specialist clinic results are not available to the public.

Star ratings and other performance information related to the CPI program are published two times each year. Generally, data will be released during the months of September and March.

Reward: Performance rewards are a component of the CPI program. Through this feature, high-performing medical clinics can earn compensation for performance excellence.
