Meet The New Medical Director at Pinnacol Assurance

I would like to introduce myself. I am Dr. Ed Leary, Pinnacol’s new Medical Director. On Aug. 15, I began my new position at Pinnacol. I am very enthusiastic and focused on supporting Pinnacol beneficiaries and network providers by applying my 15 years of experience working to enhance the interaction between health insurers and providers. My most recent position was President of Humana’s Central West Medicare Region based in Denver.
In my past experience as a Medical Director, I have worked to improve the effectiveness of clinical guidelines and quality improvement programs. I have been fortunate to work with physicians who practiced in large medical groups as well as with physicians in solo practice in urban and remote rural areas. I look forward to continuing to enhance the partnership between you and Pinnacol as we strive to improve the clinical outcomes for injured Colorado workers.
In addition to being the father of two CSU and one CU graduate, I am a member of the Colorado Medical Society, board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Level II accredited in workers’ compensation.
