At Pinnacol, we're proud to have a team of 25 safety professionals — the largest, most experienced safety team in Colorado — and their services are available to policyholders at no extra cost! The team includes 18 safety consultants, three construction specialists, one ergonomic specialist, and three industrial hygienists.

For your convenience, our dedicated, certified professionals are assigned to specific geographic locations throughout the state. They have the commitment and local knowledge our competitors simply do not. And they put it to work to help you keep your workplace safe and hold down costs. Safety Program Development

Cost Containment Certification Assistance

If your company's safety efforts meet the requirements of the state of Colorado Cost Containment Certification (CCC) program, you'll earn a discount on your workers' compensation premium — and, more important, show your commitment to your employees' safety and welfare.

Our safety consultants can help you with a proven, step-by-step program to achieve certification. After all, we've helped more policyholders become certified than any other workers' compensation carrier in the state.

Injury Trend Analysis

New employees — those with one year on the job or less — account for the majority of injuries and claims among Pinnacol policyholders. In fact, our latest data shows that a sobering 47 percent of on-the-job fatalities occur among employees with less than one year's work experience. OSHA Compliance Assistance

At Pinnacol Assurance, we make it our job to understand U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. For example, you may not know that OSHA requires employers to communicate, and provide safety materials and training—in Spanish — to Spanish-speaking employees.

Our safety consultants can help you identify and correct potential compliance issues. We'll also keep you "ahead of the curve" as regulations change.

Industrial Hygiene Services

Few workers' compensation carriers offer on-staff industrial hygienists to help policyholders control health hazards on the job — but Pinnacol does. Our hygienists' services are free to all policyholders. We even cover lab fees to analyze the samples we collect.

Our hygienists can help with a variety of workplace health hazards, such as airborne contaminants (e.g., high levels of dust at construction sites) and dangerous noise levels. We can monitor workplace conditions, analyze the findings, and work with you to find solutions.
