It is with both sadness and excitement that we inform you of a change in the leadership of Pinnacol’s agency relations and safety services department.

Jon Scott, your own valued partner for many years, is retiring from Pinnacol. His last day will be Sept. 30. Krista O’Rourke, who currently serves as our associate vice president of underwriting, will move into his position as vice president of agency relations and safety services.

Jon has been integral to Pinnacol’s success over the five years he has been with the company. His strong relationships with all of you, deep experience and stellar reputation have improved and enhanced our agency relations. He has listened to your compliments, concerns and suggestions, and always strived to ensure we are meeting your needs. He has been a strong and eloquent voice on your behalf in the executive team, and our business is the better for it.

It’s hard to say goodbye to a leader of his caliber. At the same time, we’re excited for Jon. He’s got three milestones converging: 5 years at Pinnacol, 35 years in the insurance industry and a major birthday (we promised we wouldn’t say which one). So, as he explained, this is the ideal time for him to launch the next phase of his life – including training for that triathlon he’s always wanted to do.

And we are also thrilled to introduce Krista to you with this promotion. She brings a uniquely applicable skill set to the position, including 18 years on the agency side before joining Pinnacol. She started with Riedman Insurance (now Brown & Brown) in 1995, and worked as a producer and in national program business development with USI Southern California and Jenkins Insurance Services/Leavitt. She joined Pinnacol in 2013 as a business director and was promoted to AVP of Underwriting in 2016. Her operational and underwriting expertise provides an important lens for working with our agent partners, and we feel fortunate to have such a qualified internal candidate.

We hope you will join us in extending hearty congratulations to Jon, and best wishes to Krista.
