Components of a return to work program

Getting back to work is an important part of the healing process. A return to work program is a plan to help an injured worker start working again during their recovery, either at their regular position or at modified duties. Getting back to work allows an injured worker to:

  • Stay connected at work
  • Regain financial security
  • Feel productive again

There are three components of a return to work program. Your program should include the following:

  • A return to work policy
  • A designated coordinator
  • Specific modified duty tasks
