Pinnacol awards more than $94k in grants to Colorado nonprofits

Grants will support initiatives in rehabilitative health services, economic vitality and workforce development, and employee safety and health.

DENVER, Nov. 5, 2018 — Pinnacol Assurance has awarded grants totaling $94,136 to seven Colorado nonprofits to help injured workers get back to work and stay healthy, and ensure that Colorado has a robust business climate and the workforce it needs. These grants bring Pinnacol’s annual commitment in 2018 to $450,861 through 26 grants to 22 different nonprofits. The grant recipients in this funding cycle are:

  • Associated General Contractors of Colorado, Education and Research Foundation 
  • Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado 
  • Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program 
  • Colorado Safety Association 
  • National Sports Center for the Disabled 
  • NeuAbility (formerly Spinal Cord Recovery Project) 
  • Mile High Youth Corps 

“Our community giving reflects our commitment to causes that support the health and healing of workers in every corner of the state,” said Edie Sonn, vice president of public affairs and communications. “This round of grants will help prevention, treatment and recovery from work-related illness and injury, and contribute to building the strong and healthy workforce Colorado needs.”

In addition to the seven new grants, Pinnacol is also managing 19 other grants made to organizations, including Chanda Plan Foundation, Colorado Mountain College, Colorado School of Public Health and Sedgwick County Economic Development Corporation.
