Do you have a patient you want to assist with returning to work? If their employer can’t supply modified duty options appropriate for their condition, a new Pinnacol program can help.

We have partnerships with nonprofits across Colorado that enable our policyholders’ injured employees to return to work. By being placed at a nonprofit organization, your patient could obtain the work accommodations they need, and the nonprofit receives much-needed support.

You know how critical successfully returning to work is for long-term patient improvement. This alternative employment option increases the chances of a full recovery. The longer a patient is out of work, the less likely they are ever to go back. Only half of those who are out for six months return to work, and just a quarter of those out for a year will return.

Pinnacol’s non-traditional return to work program helps patients stay safely within their work restrictions. As part of the process, Pinnacol meets with management at nonprofits to discuss work accommodations and works with policyholders to structure a successful transition for injured workers.

As a provider, you play a critical role in getting your patients back to work by encouraging them to take advantage of modified duty opportunities.
