Julie Wilmes

Julie is the Apprenticeship Program Manager of the award-winning youth apprenticeship program at Pinnacol Assurance. She focuses on team leadership, program development, implementation, partner relations and evaluation of outcomes of success. Her favorite part of the job is working with the apprentices as they grow unstoppably confident, uncover their talents and pursue their interests.

In addition, Julie lives her passion of helping young people find access to opportunities through community partnerships and as a strategic partner and champion for youth apprenticeships. Julie currently serves as an advisor for the Metropolitan State University of Denver School of Business, Colorado Succeeds and CareerWise Colorado. After earning a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver, she worked in adult learning, training and instructional design at DIRECTV and AT&T. During this time, Julie developed and facilitated supervisor and manager training across the U.S. and generated a personal passion for developing strong leaders.

In 2022, Julie co-founded and launched the New Leader Collaborative which is a community where over 50 new leaders engage in content around best practices in leading people, learn about themselves and learn from each other. She is also an active Certified Integral Coach with concentrations in life, leadership and career coaching.
