Pinnacol Assurance grants $256,000 to Colorado nonprofits

Grants support initiatives in rehabilitative health services, employee safety and health, and economic vitality and workforce development.

DENVER— July 7, 2020 — Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s leading workers’ compensation insurance insurer, has awarded grants totaling $256,000 to 8 Colorado nonprofits in the first of two grantmaking cycles for 2020. These grants enable Pinnacol to extend its reach beyond typical workers’ compensation insurance functions to support programs that keep employees healthy, help injured workers get back to work after injury, and ensure that Colorado has a robust business climate and the workforce it needs.

“Our grant program is a powerful expression of our commitment to caring for the Colorado communities in which we live and work,” said Edie Sonn, Pinnacol’s vice president of communications and public affairs.“Now more than ever, we think it’s important to support initiatives that are foundational to our mission and improve safety and overall wellness for all of Colorado’s workers.”

Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges

Funding to provide workforce development scholarships for students in Colorado’s rural communities and to provide scholarships to the following colleges:

·      Colorado Northwestern Community College (four scholarships)

·      Front Range Community College (four scholarships)

·      Lamar Community College (two scholarships)

·      Otero Junior College (two scholarships)

·      Pueblo Community College (six scholarships)

·      Trinidad State Junior College (four scholarships)
