DENVER – Feb. 3, 2026 – Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s largest workers’ compensation insurer, announced the appointment of Alicia Allen as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A veteran leader within the organization, Allen brings over a decade of deep institutional knowledge and award-winning expertise to her new role, where she will oversee corporate strategy and development, financial reporting, business planning, enterprise risk, and actuarial functions. Allen succeeds former Pinnacol CFO Kathy Kranz, who was recently appointed as President, EverPeak Insurance.
Allen joined Pinnacol in 2011 and previously served as Associate Vice President of Finance, Chief Accounting Officer, and Controller. Her leadership was recognized on a national stage in 2024 when she was named “Controller of the Year” by The Controllers’ Council.

A graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in accounting, Allen is deeply embedded in Colorado's business and philanthropic communities. She is a graduate of the 2024 Leadership Denver class and currently serves on the finance committee for the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA). Her community leadership includes serving as treasurer of the Pinnacol Foundation and the Lowry Community Master Association.
Prior to joining Pinnacol, Allen served as a Senior Vice President at Beecher Carlson in Bermuda and worked as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLP.
