Internal brand guidelines

The purpose of internal brand guidelines is to align internal-facing materials with the overall look and feel of the Pinnacol brand, but to allow for some differences in how we talk to our own employees versus external stakeholders. This guide, in combination with the main brand guidelines is meant to provide the tools necessary to communicate internally to our employees.

TONE AND VOICE

  • Friendly
  • Playful
  • Professional (we act like a national company)
  • Transparent
  • Inclusive
  • Consistent
  • Professional

COPYWRITING GUIDELINES

Consult the brand guidelines for terminology, business references, titles, etc.

As a best practice, internal copy should be simple, personal and relevant.

TEMPLATES

Pinnacol's branded PowerPoint or Google slides templates should be used for all internal presentations.

The branded Google slides template can be found by navigating to your Google dashboard. From there, select 'Slides' and click the 'Template gallery' section at the top right.

LOGO USAGE

  • The Pinnacol blue logo should be used in internal communications.
  • The Pinnacol logo should not be repurposed or redesigned for project use.
  • Specific programs should not be branded with individual logos outside the Pinnacol brand without approval from the Employee Communications team.
  • Program-specific logos will be considered for large internal campaigns if the program impacts the entire Pinnacol employee population and the campaign includes a rolling timeline of two weeks or more (multiple messages given at multiple times through multiple channels). The logo should be sent to Ask Brand for review.
  • Program-specific logos must not repurpose the Pinnacol logo.

COLORS AND FONTS

Colors and fonts used in employee-focused materials should match those used in externally-focused materials. View the brand colors and fonts pages of the brand guidelines for details.

IMAGE AND ICON USE

Approved images and icons can be found in Brandfolder. Enter your Pinnacol email address and click the blue "Open Share Link" button. From there you can view and download approved images and icons.

Images

View and download approved images for external use here. Images for internal use only can be found here.

Icons

Icons can be downloaded here.

You'll see a screen showing all the blue icons. Hover over the icon you need until you see "View," and click that to view the available colors. Select the download icon for the color you'd like to download.

If you need to change the size or file type of the icon, select "Options" and then select the file type or change the size. The ratio of the icon will be locked to prevent it from being stretched out.

Want the icons in all the colors? Select the option to download all attachments. If you'd like to download more than one icon, use the checkbox under each icon image. Then select "Download." All icons in all colors will then download.
