Vice President, Public Affairs

As vice president of public affairs, Wes Parham doesn’t just lead — he drives transformative conversations. Parham leads Pinnacol’s legislative, nationally recognized community relations, and public outreach initiatives. He is an accomplished public affairs executive with decades of experience in civic leadership.
Under Parham’s leadership, Pinnacol earned national recognition for its civic, employee, and community engagement, culminating in its selection as a national finalist for Best Corporate Steward in the large business category by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
Prior to joining Pinnacol, Parham led Xcel Energy-Colorado’s state public policy and external advocacy efforts, playing an instrumental role in developing and implementing numerous public advocacy campaigns. His efforts set the stage for transformative dialogue resulting in the advancement of clean energy, new technologies and economic development opportunities in the Western U.S.
From nurturing young minds through mentorship to sculpting the landscape of education, entrepreneurship and workforce development, Parham’s heart beats for Colorado’s growth. In addition to numerous committees and advisory councils, he serves on the board of directors for the Pinnacol Foundation, the nation’s largest scholarship program supporting families of injured workers. He also serves on the boards of directors for the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Succeeds and the Adams 12 Five Star Education Foundation. Additionally, he is appointed to the Colorado Experiential Learning Commission by Colorado Gov. Jared Polis.
Parham holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, both from the University of Colorado (go Buffs). He and his family spend much of their free time enjoying the various outdoor adventures Colorado has to offer.
