Akasha Absher joined Pinnacol's board of directors in 2020.
Akasha Absher is Co-President at Syntrinsic, an IMA company. She brings more than 25 years of experience across investment consulting, investment banking, fixed-income trading, risk management, and nonprofit leadership. In her role, Akasha oversees the firm’s investment advisory and strategic consulting services for endowments, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and private philanthropic clients. She also chairs Syntrinsic’s Portfolio Implementation Committee.
Akasha is deeply engaged in corporate and nonprofit governance. She serves as Chair of the Board of Pinnacol Assurance and Treasurer of the Board of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she is a Management Advisory Committee Member for BH Credit Management LLC and serves on the Investment Committee for Gary Community Ventures.
Previously, Akasha was a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Lucidus Capital Partners and Caxton Associates. Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President and Senior Publishing Analyst at J.P. Morgan.
Akasha earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Clark Atlanta University and her MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She has been recognized for her leadership and community impact, including being named one of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Top 25 Most Powerful Women in 2020 and a Girl Scout Woman of Distinction in 2021.
